NPP Cofrentes: VF Nuclear Vent Stack Monitoring Modernization

With TECNASA, Tecnologías Asociadas, VF Nuclear successfully delivered and commissioned the GEMS system in 2023. This system is designed for the sampling and measurement of radioactive discharges through the ventilation stack into the air at the Spanish nuclear power plant Cofrentes. Samples of aerosols, iodine and measured values of noble gases are used to assess the impact of the nuclear power plant on the environment and the population in the vicinity and, of course, to demonstrate the safety of its operation. At VF NUCLEAR, we develop advanced modular radiation monitoring systems that ensure the safe operation of nuclear power plants in all operating situations. The GEMS system was created to meet the demanding requirements of the customer and in accordance with relevant standards, decrees and laws. We are proud that the Cofrentes Nuclear Power Plant in scenic Valencia has chosen our GEMS system, and by doing so we have jointly contributed to the safety of this beautiful part of Spain.
