1945. Germany is surrounded. Defeat is imminent. They fight a losing battle. Across The Field follows Walter, a 17 year old conscript who is desperately wanting to flee the front line and return to his mother. Haunted by memories and hallucinations of his fallen friend Peter, Walter silently deals with the real threat of war & PTSD all by himself. Whichever decision he makes is a risk. Across The Field won 2 awards at German film festivals (Berlin Indie Film Festival & Mannheim Film & Arts Festival. It was also screened at Tees Valley International Film Festival (UK). The film was entirely shot on an IPhone 13 and was made on a restricted budget, filmed over 1 and half days in the United Kingdom. This was my first ever project as a filmmaker and I wanted to test myself by not only focusing on a historic time period, but also dive into the depths of foreign language. Thank you
