Hungary reaffirmed its commitment to close cooperation with Russia on energy and trade on Wednesday, defying pressure from Brussels and Kiev, as Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said Budapest’s security and economic stability depended on unimpeded ties with Moscow. Speaking at the Russian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission in Moscow, Szijjarto said Prime Minister Viktor Orban and President Vladimir Putin had agreed to deepen cooperation and resist external pressure. Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko described Hungary as a reliable economic partner, noting that trade in services more than tripled last year.
