University Dissertation project | In a time where rugby players have become bigger, faster, and stronger, are head injures just accepted to be part of this ever-evolving game? During the 2019 Rugby World Cup, there were 10.5 concussions per 1,000 playing hours, making this "invisible injury" a growing concern. What is concussion? How is it caused, and can it be controlled? Former professional rugby player Adam Hughes provides first-hand experience of his trauma and shares insight into the consequences of years playing the sport. Follow Adam's journey, two years after retiring from the professional game, as he undergoes a series of tests to monitor his recovery and examine if he is still showing any clear signs of concussion. Finally, can new technology provide an opportunity to improve the monitoring of head injuries and prevent long-term repercussions?
