Jodi Allemeier: Urbanist Collaboration for a 24 hour city: designing social cohesion Jodi is a Capetonian who holds qualifications and experience in the fields of social work, public and development management, economics and development finance. She joined Cape Town Partnership in 2012 as Central City Development Strategy Manager, where she works to build cross-sectoral and cross-disciplinary partnerships for a stronger city. She is inspired by the vision, creativity and collaboration displayed in the day-to-day lives of ordinary Capetonians. Prior to joining CTP, Jodi was a Director at Urban-Econ, a firm of development economists, where she gained experience working with multi-disciplinary teams on a range of social, economic, institutional, infrastructural and property development strategies and projects in and around Cape Town. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
