Can You Grow Microgreens on Cheesecloth and Reuse It? 🌱🔄 We wanted to test an unconventional growing medium, so we grabbed some unbleached cotton cheesecloth and got to work! ✂️ Using two small sprouting trays, we cut the cheesecloth to size (a bit tricky but we made it happen) and seeded one with Celosia and the other with Purple Kohlrabi. A quick mist of water, a brick on top, and onto the shelf they went to germinate! 💦 By day 6, both trays had germinated beautifully, with roots weaving through the cloth into the bottom trays. We moved them to the kitchen counter for some light, gave them a bottom water with pH-balanced water, and watched them green up. 🌞 By day 15, we had fresh microgreens ready to harvest! The Purple Kohlrabi stole the show with beautiful growth and stunning roots, while the Celosia stayed shorter than expected. Verdict? Cheesecloth works great for growing! But reusing it? That was a challenge—removing roots and stems was tough and didn’t feel sanitary enough for round two. Still, these micros were gorgeous! 🌿 ( Trays seen in video and reusable mediums can be found on our website - www.onthegrow.net ) Would you try growing microgreens on cheesecloth?
