£1000 AliExpress Carbon road bike build - Disc brake

Ultra-budget full carbon disc brake road bike build, including TOTAL COST, WEIGHT, & TEST RIDE! SIROKO CLOTHING – 10% off (automatically applied via link below): https://srko.co/tracevelo My sizes for Siroko clothing: Jersey – M, Bib shorts – L My size and weight: Height - 6ft 2In (188cm), Weight - 11.5 stone (73kg) Carbon fibre disc brake road bikes from the big brands are incredibly expensive right now, so in this video, I set out to build one of the cheapest fully carbon aero road bikes possible. The open-mold carbon frame is literally the cheapest one I could find on AliExpress, and the groupset is from L-TWOO, their RX 12 speed mechanical groupset (which happens to be one of the cheapest complete groupsets I have ever bought). The bike is disc brake, but a fully hydraulic groupset from SRAM or Shimano would nearly double the cost of the build. So to keep the costs down I am using a hybrid mechanical/hydraulic brake caliper, the Zrace BR-005. From initial impressions they seem to work really well, seemingly just as well as the JuinTech F1, my current favourite mechanical caliper. However the build was not particularly straightforward, and was probably one of the most annoying builds I have ever done. The frame presented a number of issues, and the integrated carbon handlebars from RXL-SL seem to be pretty poorly made. However, I am really pleased with the final build, so I’ll get some decent miles on it, and report back! If it’s cheap, from China, and made of carbon fibre, I’m interested!
