Featuring a primary tube diameter of 1-5/8", these BBK Tuned Length Shorty headers will provide a big boost in exhaust pulse efficiency and capacity, creating a noticeable 10-15 horsepower gain at higher RPM. The "tuned length" designation by BBK means these headers are a hybrid between a shorty and long tube design. The primary pipes and overall length are nowhere near as large or long as a conventional long tube header, nor are they as small and short as a traditional short header. CNC Mandrel Bent Piping. Available in two finishes, chrome or ceramic, these BBK Tuned Length Shorty headers are fabricated from premium CNC mandrel bent steel tubing. Both will greatly improve engine performance over the stock manifolds, however the edge goes to the ceramic coated version, as they offer better corrosion resistance and heat dispersion versus the chrome. In addition, the ceramic coated tuned length shorty headers will not discolour over time like chrome does due to the heat cycles. Bolt-On Install. These BBK Tuned Length Shorty Headers will bolt right up the 4.6L V8 in your 2005-2010 Mustang GT. They are a direct fit with the factory mid-pipe and do not require any modification or relocation of any other engine parts. With this being said, however, because of the constrained space around the exhaust manifolds, the job can be somewhat tricky. With access to basic hand tools, you can accomplish this job in an afternoon.
