Companies are basically BEGGING you to apply if you see them on a job board website. There are lots of job boards on the internet, but most are generic, meaning there are thousands of jobs on those sites that aren’t related to your area of expertise in any way at all. It’s one thing to create a profile on a generic job board website. It’s another thing to create a profile on a SPECIFIC job board website related to the industry YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO WORK IN. That’s where the SalesforceBen job board comes in. https://www.salesforceben.com/salesfo... If you’re searching for a salesforce job, you can now put your resume and profile on a Salesforce specific job posting website. The SalesforceBen job board is much more targeted and straight to the point so you know that every job is focused on what YOU’RE focused on…. SALESFORCE!!! Putting your job on an ecosystem-specific job board makes much more sense and I think it’ll cut down on the time it takes people to land Salesforce jobs. My criteria for anyone searching for a Salesforce job follows this process: Apply for jobs that are within your Salesforce area of expertise (Like Marketing, Sales, Service, Commerce Cloud, etc…) Make a list of the skills you have in your area of expertise within Salesforce Look at job descriptions in your area of expertise and see what the companies are looking for Apply for jobs that match your skills If you don’t have the skills, go back to trailhead, a course, YouTube, or the internet and learn what you don’t know So let’s say you’ve been learning Marketing Cloud, then you should apply for Marketing Cloud jobs. If you know Marketing Cloud and Commerce Cloud, then you have more jobs you can apply for. You can apply for Marketing Cloud and Commerce Cloud jobs. But the main thing is to focus on searching for jobs that are related to your area of expertise, even if you’re a beginner. Then create a list of the things you know how to do in Marketing Cloud (or any other cloud you know), and write all of those things down on a sheet of paper or a note taking app. Once you have your list, then find all of the Marketing Cloud jobs you want to apply for, then look at the job description of those jobs. Only look at the job description at this point and make al list of everything these companies are wanting you to be able to do on the job. Now you’ll have a list of the things you CAN do, and if they match the job descriptions, then apply for those jobs. If there’s something you can’t do or you don’t know, then start learning that skill. Let’s say you know how Automation Studio works, but you don’t know how Journey Builder works in Marketing Cloud. But let’s also say that the company you’re wanting to apply to wants you to be able to configure Journey Builder… Well now it’s time to make up for what you don’t know… Go to Trailhead, YouTube, an Online Course, or somewhere on the internet and LEARN Journey Builder. Take notes, write out examples, figure out how it works. Do whatever you have to do to learn how it works! Once you feel comfortable talking about Journey Builder to someone else, then you have knowledge on that part of the platform. I always say, if you can explain it to someone that doesn’t know the system, and if they understand it, then you know it and can talk about it in a job interview. As you continue this process, you’ll be applying for jobs and continuing to learn skills on Trailhead, online courses, YouTube, or anywhere you can find on the internet and the cycle will continue as you take interviews and speak with recruiters and hiring managers. The interview process is a bit scary for some people, but just remember, all you’re doing in an interview is having a conversation with another human being. It’s like dating… You just have to show or tell them why you’re a great candidate. People get rejected in doting all the time, and you probably wouldn’t marry the first person you went on a date with. (This is a back and forth you’re having) So you just have to keep looking and repeating a very detail oriented job search. The main thing you need to have is FOCUS. Focus on what is most important to YOU. Don’t worry about the job title, just go in knowing the job description and understand what the company wants you to be able to do for the job, and you’ll be confident. As long as you have confidence when you’re in the job interview, what’s the worst that could happen? Honestly it’s just a conversation and confidence is the only way you’re going to that high paying salary you’re looking for. There are tips and tricks I could give you to learn how to do interviews, and you could do mock interviews, but I won’t cover all that here.
