DO NOT BUY THE SAMSUNG SERO TV!!!! UPDATE: 17-June-2024 I sent in my purchase invoice to the repairers and they have given me a Samsung leniency for the repair which dropped the price to €213. Should I be happy about this? Well! it's better then €429 but seriously a €1699 tv last less then 3 years?! After I complained to Samsung directly they just came back with the reply below "Unfortunately, we cannot do anything for you regarding the quotation, because the information from our repair partner is leading. In addition, Samsung offers a 2-year manufacturer's warranty on all devices, unless you have purchased extra through the purchaser's store/dealer. I also see that a leniency/discount has been granted on the quote box, otherwise it would be more expensive. Unfortunately, we have no influence on the repair costs you received. My apologies for the inconvenience experienced. If you do not agree with the proposal + quote and would like to make a new purchase, I can offer you a discount code, which is valid for 7 days and allows you to purchase 4 products. You may then have the device returned unrepaired." Basically nothing they want to do about this. So I paid the €213 repair bill and the TV was returned a few days later. Anyway with this in mind will the TV die again in 3 years time? Well, we will see. With that conclusion I can absolutely state that you should not buy the Samsung Sero TV, unless you are willing to pay for a repair within 3 years. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: 06- June-2024 After I raised the repair with Samsung they came and picked up the TV. Had to pay an initial €100 when they took it away. A day later they said the problem was with the main board QTLS05W and it would have to be replaced Here is the quote: Description Labor wages € 94,21 ASSY PCB MAIN;QTLS05W € 129,57 Total € 223,78 Treatment costs € 35,12 Transport € 95,86 Total € 354,76 BTW 21% € 74,50 Total incl. VAT € 429,26 Total cost would be €430. I emailed a complaint directly to Samsung customer services. They actually called me back within a day to confirm my details and said they will send it to their office to further discuss, before getting back to me. The representative did emphasis that the product does only comes with a 2 year warranty. I acknowledged this but said that I was appealing to their goodwill and duty of care to their customers. Especially as this is a €1700 tv and one of their unique flagship products. In my review I spoke about Samsung's QLED 10 year Burn-in Free warranty, the fact they offer this indicates to me that Samsung themselves expect the tv to last at least that long. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: 01- June-2024 The sero has suddenly died!!!! No warning of flicker or error messages, etc. In the middle of watching Tv the sero just switched off and wouldn't turn on again. Have pulled the plug out, left it to rest an hour, pressed the power button 30 seconds to discharge. Plugged it back in and tried to power on but to no avail. Tried different cords and sockets no good. Have raised a repair request through Samsung today and also sent in a complaint that their TV is very poor life span. The Tv is out of warranty (EU only 2 years) and estimated repair charge is between €150 and €450. This Tv is only 3 years old!!! Very, very poor!!! We also are do not watch TV every day! in fact the kids only watch Tv for 2 hours in the evenings.
