Queen - Live in Nagoya (April 28th, 1979) - Source 3 Master

QUEEN Tour: Jazz // Leg 3: Japan Venue: Nagoya City International Exhibition Hall City: Nagoya, Japan Date: April 28th, 1979 After the awful Tokyo and Kobe shows, the next stop on Queen’s third Japanese tour is Nagoya. Tonight’s show got the largest attendance of the tour, totaling around 20,000 people inside of the Nagoya City International Exhibition Hall tonight, as a result we get a typically great atmosphere inside the building. Three distinct sources exist from this show, and tonight we’re focusing on source three, which dropped last month along with source 5 of Tokorozawa 1982. One could assume they’re recorded by the same person as the quality and setup seem pretty similar. Source three unfortunately only covers the main set, as the bootleg release has patched those tracks at the end with source two. I’ve decided to cut out those patched in portions from the aforementioned source two so this stays purely a source three upload. Despite being the second show in a row after Kobe (of all shows), Freddie, despite still being pretty weak and rough throughout, manages to pull through a more tolerable show tonight, while introducing ‘It’s Late’ he makes a rare reference to his vocal condition on the tour: “We're gonna do something a bit heavier... with this dreadful voice.” Despite Freddie’s issues, the band puts in a fantastic show tonight, with Brian being a clear highlight as he’s seriously going off on songs like ‘If You Can’t Beat Them’ (which is back for tonight’s show after having been dropped for quite a while), ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, and his solo spot. ‘It’s Late’ is a bit iffy on his end though as his guitar cuts out during the verses and his tapping solo has some pretty bad off-key playing, but the fast section is solid.
