Karas Kustoms has been making amazing machined pens, both ballpoints and fountain pens, for many years. This week, they launched the basik.001 rollerball pen under a new branch of their company called Everyday Karas. This pen is affordable, functional, and durable. Karas was able to create a low-cost ballpoint pen without cutting corners. I've really enjoyed this pen, and I think it's a great option if you're looking for a reliable EDC pen. Here's a link to the Everyday Karas website: https://www.everydaykaras.com/?srslti... Everyday Karas's statement on labor and the environment: "We manufacture the majority of our major components in our shop in Mesa, Arizona and follow all local and federal labor laws. Products we source externally are primarily from other US manufacturers, many of them local. We also source parts from Pilot Pen Company (refills), Schmidt Technologies in Germany (refills and other pen components), Bock (pen nibs), and Monteverde (fountain pen ink made in Austria). I am fairly certain all of our partners pay fair wages and don't employ anyone under the legal age of employment in their countries. As a manufacturer of durable writing instruments primarily made from metal, one of our key goals is to replace disposable pens and the mindset that a pen can just be thrown away. Our packaging is recyclable, including plastic packaging that we use, but our primary packaging is all made from recyclable cardboard. We also follow local and federal EPA regulations on all of our machining fluids, oils, and other waste with a local service that does waste removal. All of our metal cast-off is transferred to a metal recycling company on a monthly basis." Also in this video, I cover a lovely leather notebook that an Etsy seller named Brad sent me. It's really wonderful, and seems surprisingly affordable. Here's Brad's Etsy shop if you want to go check it out: https://www.etsy.com/shop/woodsybalms...
