The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows: There are predictions of severe thunderstorms in the southern areas of North West Province (excluding the extreme southwest) and the north-central parts of the Free State Province. These storms are forecasted to bring about heavy rainfall, strong winds, hail, and intense lightning, potentially leading to flooding in various areas. This may result in the closure of certain bridges and roads, posing a risk to individuals' safety. Additionally, there is a potential danger to both informal and formal houses or structures in densely populated urban or rural villages. There are forecasts of severe thunderstorms in various regions, including the northern parts of the North West Province (except for the north-east), Free State Province (except for the eastern and western extremes), the extreme east of the Northern Cape Province, the south-eastern parts of Mpumalanga Province, and the northern parts of KwaZulu-Natal Province. These storms are forecasted to bring heavy rain, strong winds, hail, and intense lightning, which could lead to flooding in certain areas, damage to roofs of informal houses, and structural damage. Anticipate heavy rainfall in certain areas of the eastern half of the Eastern Cape Province, which may lead to flooding in vulnerable settlements, low-lying roads, and bridges.
