Barbarella is a science fiction movie released in 1968 starring Jane Fonda pre-exercise videos. The effort put into this movie’s plot is right about on par with the writing you would find in porn. I’m not wrong. Perhaps a bit raunchier than my usual content selections, but a classic all the same. Do they do Barbarella showings similar to Rocky Horror? Because they should. Also, I realized that the twins were never in The Shining book. So really, I should be side-eyeing the 1980 film rather than the 1977 book. _____ HOUSEKEEPING UPDATE: I’m going to have a video next week, and then I’m going to start a new schedule of posting every other week. This is in an effort to preserve my sanity as the ever-increasing responsibilities of life slowly crush my free time. So to recap, July 15? Video! July 22? No video. July 29? Video! Repeat ad infinitum. This has been a ridiculously fun hobby, but I don’t want it to end up feeling like some sort of burdensome obligation and have to scramble every week. Once things calm down a bit, maybe this will actually give me the breathing room to work on some of the longer videos that require a lot of prep and work. (The Magicians video about being the rare case where the show is better than the book. A video about a SUPER weird early 2000’s reality show. The classic science fantasy book series that should be the next Game of Thrones. Among others!) In an ideal world, with the new every-other-week schedule, I’d alternate “easy” videos that require fewer clips with more substantial videos. Anyway! Next week’s video will be about the SQUONK. Yes, friends. It’s finally time to tell you all the secrets about Pennsylvania’s weird, sad cryptid.
