But while this movie quickly went down the annals of history as one of the worst superhero movies of all time, there’s a surprising depth and complexity that goes beyond the cringey surface aesthetics and baffling choices. It’s a fascinating, carefully-constructed film, even though it doesn’t feel like it, and pushing through some of the weirdness reveals more beauty than you might expect ... if you’re willing push through it.
