THIS LEVEL HAS BEEN VERIFIED -- THANK YOU @dewbbsGD • [VERIFIED] APOLLO // TOP 1 LAYOUT LIST massive thanks to @zeroya_ for somehow restructuring the dual at 2:00 and other parts of the level and @brunobrr4319 for building 10 obj which gave me the core gameplay idea behind 37-39% I WAS STRUGGLING LOL beautiful thumbnail by @cjsoldan thank you vro NONG SONG and main visual inspiration: • "Apollo" TJ.hangneil I need you to listen to sasakureuk ----------------------- Every now and then, I find myself coming back to this specific layout in some desperate attempt to save this layout, and finally I think I've done it. 3rd time's the charm right? This is the only layout I hold a huge connection to because this was my first serious attempt at making good gameplay, and the original 2.1 version I did make was DOGSHIT. However, I had a strange attachment to the ideas I initially had in that layout and I'm not so sure why. When it comes to making gameplay, I tend to take inspiration subconsciously from the levels I enjoy playing or some thematic idea behind it, for example lovefallacy, my most recent layout, was heavily inspired by the theme of heartbreak (and the new Chainsaw Man movie haha), and Sugarcoat was heavily inspired by Convie's layouts (Retitled/Untitled specifically) My other early layout, Setsugen was a complete kowareta parody because at that time I had played kowareta a LOT, so naturally I was influenced. On the other hand, Apollo was made during the time when Necropolis (yes, the one by NeptunE) was my HARDEST. This style of gameplay I had was so different to the other levels I touched at the time (Magma Bound, Plasma Pulse etc) that I genuinely don't know how or why I thought up of the gameplay I did, but over the last two years of this level existing, I have always thought that this was some of the rawest gameplay I will ever make. I like to think of Apollo as the most pure "nootfluke" gameplay there is. Everything else I have made is influenced by some external factor, or a slightly worse impression of Apollo (sorry Atropos). Although, if you couldn't tell, there is a LOT here that is different from the 2.2 version I made a year ago, LET ALONE the 2.1 version 2 years ago. This is hardly the same level at all structurally. Core gameplay wise, you'll see a bunch of fun similarities. I tried my best. I can't lie, a giant push for me giving Apollo this many second chances was the one Layout List YT short that Secret Way made on Achelous. At the time, I was pretty burnt out with creating stuff for literally 0 reward. Watching that and seeing people interested in a layout though made me think that even if I couldn't find decoration, some people out there would like to play the things that I make, and then I pushed to create arguably my best layout for a while. I don't know if I want this decorated. Some part of me does want to see this decorated and rated on the Demon List, because that's what this level was initially designed for, but I know I would have to make this a megacollab in order to make this work, and that has failed SEVERAL times. I also wouldn't mind having this to be a solo project. This gameplay is the most authentically me gameplay I've ever made, and I have other creations of mine which are getting decorated (through divine luck lmfao). I wouldn't mind this layout being just a layout, though decoration would be nice. This will be on the Layout List, and it is without any doubt, Top 1. As for future layouts, I struggle a lot to make gameplay nowadays, I'm more stressed with real life problems and I have less motivation with general interests which sucks. However, I'm proud of myself for putting in a shift to make this level look how it is now - I hope people love playing it as much as I did making it. Some people might also hate this level and that's okay. I am just happy to finally have a version of this level which represents an authentic version of me and my gameplay style that anyone can enjoy! also here's the 2.1 version if u wanna see the glowup frfr • APOLLO (2.1)
