After speaking with the teachers in the hall and ironing things out, the two members of the St. Cloud Prep Academy board came back before the School Board at the 6/7/22 School Board Meeting. They asked the Board for their permission to use whatever funds they had left to pay the teachers what they are owed. The School Board agreed that that was ok. The Director of the School then asked the Board if they would forgive the administrative fee that the School owes the district, which would total $214k. Both School Board Members Julius Melendez and Jon Arguello were ok with this as it would ensure everyone would get paid what they were owed. School Board Attorney Frank Kruppenbacher recommended that the Board not go through with this as it would set a "precedent", which Chairwoman Terry Castillo agreed with and stated this was a concern for her as well.
