What a day on our adventure in Keystone South Dakota! Our family adventure began with a scenic drive through the famous granite tunnels of South Dakota. With Kevin behind the wheel and a playful spirit in tow, he let out a few loud honks before each tunnel — more for fun than warning — making the kids laugh every time. The sound echoed through the carved stone like a call into the wild. Our next stop: the Black Elk Wilderness in the Black Hills National Forest, where we stretched our legs with a short hike. The views were stunning, and we took the chance to snap some senior photos of Autumn — nature truly makes the best backdrop. After the hike, we headed into Keystone for a bit of small-town charm. We stopped at Carved Signs by Mr. Evans, where we found the perfect keepsake and even got a little behind-the-scenes peek as he shared how the signs are made. It was a highlight for all of us. We wrapped up our day at the Keystone Historical Museum, housed in the old school attended by Carrie Ingall's, sister of Laura Ingalls Wilder. It felt like stepping back in time — a quiet, reflective end to a full and joyful day.
