Dr. Alain Labrique is a distinguished figure in the realm of digital health and innovation. Currently, he holds the position of Director for the Department of Digital Health and Innovation at the World Health Organization. Previously, he served as the founding director of the Global mHealth Initiative at Johns Hopkins University and Editor-in-Chief of the Oxford Open Digital Health journal. As an infectious disease and population epidemiologist, Dr. Labrique has spearheaded groundbreaking research in maternal, neonatal, and child health in resource-limited settings. He was recognized as one of the Top 11 mHealth Innovators in 2011 and has an impressive track record as the author of over 150 publications in leading journals, alongside numerous chapters and technical reports on digital health and emerging infectious diseases. Dr. Labrique has played a pivotal role as a technical advisor for various international and global health organizations and ministries of health. He chaired the WHO Digital Health Guidelines Development Group and served as a member of the WHO Digital Health Roster of Experts. In 2018, Dr. Labrique was honored with the Excellence in International Public Health Practice Award and a Distinguished Alumnus award from Johns Hopkins University.
