In a world full of lines that divide us as people, Court Crandall set out to create one line that would bring us all together. By initiating a free the competition for a $40,000 college scholarship at Compton High School and documenting the lives of the eight participants in a feature film, Court attempted to demonstrate that while the city of Compton is typically defined by gangs, drugs and violence, the people who live there are actually just like everyone else. What he ended up doing, was providing a stage for one amazing student to show the world that the values we cherish most as Americans may be best exemplified in this unlikely zip code.
