This was originally supposed to be part of another repair video. I thought it might be more helpful on it's own. The flat cable used on the color wheel can become brittle from all the heat it is exposed to. Through vibration and thermal cycling, the cable can break off at where it is glued onto the Color wheel PCB. This can also happen during an over-zealous attempt to remove a color wheel from an older projector. In most cases this is really only helpful if you are trying to save a few bucks or squeeze a little more life out of a projector. If the cable is that brittle, so are other parts of the projector. I would always recommend replacing the wheel if you plan to keep the projector for a while but this is an easy way to get back up and running quickly while you wait for the new part. I could have done it a little cleaner with my solder rig at home, but I figure it is worth showing that you can still do a lot even if you do not have the fanciest tools and I show how to prove it works with the meter. Repairing this cable will only help if your wheel was working properly before the cable broke. If your wheel has a bad bearing or damaged segment, this video will not be of much help.
