F2008.58.050 Description: Channel Coast Activities- Coastal command air forces attack naval German supply carriers. Fighter bombers strike ground targets and thousands of tons of bombs are dropped along Nazi strongholds at the port. Ordnance Repairs- At a collection post mechanics repair damaged vehicles, tanks are ready for combat when they leave the station. German Frontier Operations- 7th Army infantry spearheads drive to southwestern Germany. Engineer units help to assure sage and rapid passage for troops. Ammo is held high and dry as infantry men cross the river. Trucks forge river to carry troops and advance continues. Winter necessary supplies are flown into flying areas to prepare for upcoming weather. Firebombs are introduced setting fire to German forts. On First Army Front German civilians come out of hiding after a week of house to house searches. First Army continues advance. Additional Film Airborne Operations- Supplies are reinforcements are flown to Holland following initial landings of first allied airborne army. Bridges and northern anchor are secured. Heavy concentration of enemy fire brings loses. Flight air reinforces are brought in to widen support against fierce enemy opposition. Toulon Harbor Installations- Inspection made of harbor area after many installations were destroyed. Invasion of Palau Islands- Islands are bombed to neutralize enemy offensive power prior to amphibious invasion. Torpedo air crafts join attacks as well as some surface vessels of Third fleet. Jap garrison is holding out on island, command post and communication post are quickly set up and ground troops move swiftly against resistance.
