Welcome to our no dig/no till garden where we grow vegetables. Although we grow our veg from our back garden it is very much set up like allotment gardening uk. Our passion is vegetable gardening, bigger harvests and no dig gardening. You will see how growing your own food is so easy. No dig bed prep is really important because it is the only feed it will receive all year for vegetable gardening. Today we refresh part of one of our veg bed with some compost. Mother Nature doesn’t use a spade, so why not follow her example - put your digging days behind you and save time and effort in the garden. In this short video we’ll demonstrate how no dig/no till gardening can help save your back while maximising your soil’s health and help you achieve productive gardening . I have had better crops myself without all the hard work of annually digging over the soil. As you will see it's just a matter of twisting out your plants after final harvest and then simply add organic matter or compost to the surface and let the soil organisms do all the work. We start with moving compost in the wheelbarrow. I explain how a manure fork contrasts with a digging fork. I use this to break lumps of compost so that spreading is more even and compost is available to soil organisms I spread compost and make level with the manure fork. I explain how much compost I put on my vegetable beds I know via the comments you all love to see Poppy so there is some bonus footage at the end of the video - so enjoy!
