In this video, we will rank and explore Marilyn Monroe's 10 greatest movies. If you look at the entire history of Hollywood, there has perhaps never been another woman so idolised as Marilyn Monroe. Hell even today, decades after her death, she continues to be an icon. And it wasn’t just her striking good looks she was idolised on account of either. No, it was also her acting chops, acting chops which were on regular display while she was alive. Take for example her early work in movies like Monkey Business, Niagara, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, or How to Marry a Millionaire. Each of these helped to establish her as the blonde bombshell who was taking the world by storm. And after she was fully established, Marilyn Monroe would let loose with what she was really capable of when she starred in Billy Wilder hits The Seven Year Itch and Some Like it Hot, the latter of which earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress. Tragically though, before she could go any further than this, Marilyn Monroe’s career would come to an untimely end on account of her death at just thirty six years old in 1962. But that wouldn’t be the end of the myth surrounding her. No, partially due to the odd circumstances surrounding her demise, she’d continue to be a figure whose life was poured over for decades after. In fact her life story would still be getting told as recently as 2022’s Blonde where she was memorably portrayed on screen by Ana de Armas.
