Japan PM Abe offers no apology over WW2 sexsual slavery / YTN

As predicted, there was no apology from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe over Japan's World War Two atrocities during a speech at Harvard University in Boston on Monday. Instead, the nationalist Abe described the forced sex slaves for Japan's wartime military brothels as victims of "human trafficking". He said his "heart aches" when he thinks about "those people who were victimized by human trafficking." He is on an official visit to the United States. Abe's selection of the word "human trafficking", instead of "sexual slavery", appears not to deviate from his administration's existing position opting to whitewash Tokyo's responsibility for its past wrongdoings. Abe only added that he upholds the "Kono Statement" of 1993, which carried the Japanese government's official apology to the "comfort women". Outside the auditorium, dozens of Harvard students and others, including Lee Yong-Soo, a surviving sexual slavery victim, held a protest rally.
