Course: Anterior Skull Base Surgery Course Module 3: Anterior Skull Base - Miscellaneous. Topic 4 : CSF Leak and Skull Base Reconstruction. Prof. Brad Woodworth’s session on the management of CSF leak and reconstruction of the skull base following surgery. Prof. Woodworth has been at UAB since 2008, specializing in the treatment of Sino nasal and skull base disorders. He completed a fellowship in rhinology at the world renowned Division of Rhinology at the University of Pennsylvania. Along with Dr Riley from the neurological surgery division, leads the only multi-disciplinary minimally invasive skull base program in Alabama and northern Florida. He is an NIH funded researcher investigating therapeutic interventions that enhance mucociliary clearance in both cystic fibrosis (where chronic rhinosinusitis is virtually universal) and non-cystic fibrosis chronic rhinosinusitis. He is also internationally recognized regarding his research on cerebrospinal fluid leak/skull base defect repair. He has published over 120 journal articles, 30 book chapters, and 2 Rhinology textbooks related to sinus and skull base disorders. Originally presented on 12th Dec 2020 -session 14, as part of the GR-ESS 2020 event, a two day event covering all aspects of Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (day 1 – 11th Dec 2020) and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery (day 2 – 12th Dec 2020). Global Rhinology Network is a registered academic non-profit organisation with a mission to foster surgical training in the field of Rhinology and Skull Base surgery. The concept of the organisation has evolved through an annual international live surgical webcast. The LIONESS established by Mr. Ashok Rokade with the strong support of participating surgeons in association with the lauded LION foundation. Prof. Christos Georgalas, Prof. Wilko Grolman, Dr. Robert Vincent, and Mr. John Oates were instrumental to see the LIONESS take-off in 2014 and to reach surgeons from more than 40 countries.
