IF YOU LIKE OUR STUFF, PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING OUR KICKSTARTER (CROWDFUNDER) WHICH HAS THREE WEEKS LEFT TO HELP US FUND OUR DEBUT ALBUM OF ORIGINAL MUSIC, CALLED “HOLLOW CHAPTERS”, COMING IN 2026! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/... ____________ On the day of widespread massive "No Kings" marches across US cities, here's a song about the protests that have been going on. It features footage of cities (such as Portland and Chicago) where lately, peaceful and creative protests have been taking place in response to the actions of ICE and federal agents in communities. None of it may make much sense if you have (a) not seen the Portland protests (in which case a summary here: https://edition.cnn.com/2025/10/16/us...) OR (b) not seen Miss Saigon – the fairly controversial musical created in 1989 by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil … the song we have adapted, titled “Bui-Doi”, is a rousing call to arms by Vietnam veterans to help support orphaned children who were victims of the war (Bụi đời is actually an older Vietnamese term for street children) – and was memorably sung by Peter Polycarpou in the original London cast recording. But if you know, you know. And in case no-one gets it, the parody is initially delivered from the perspective of ‘veterans’ of the forces who are currently trying to police the giant frogs, unicorns, naked cyclists, and the other protesters whose courage and humour really tickled us this week when we saw the footage. So this is in solidarity, and that's the only reason some in the family were willing to put on the inflatables ... ___________________________ Support us here: Crowdfunder for new album: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/... They’re all weird toys Who just won’t fight Aggrieved as hell About their rights They are belittling our violence And all the shit we’re trying to do We can’t repress Civil unrest When they are all Twerking cartoons These streets have frogs on every side They seem to spawn in any place It’s happening nationwide In cities we’ve defaced I never thought one day I'd police Bananas and a unicorn How’s this a war or insurrection?! They’re kind of having fun! We all deployed To crush the “vice” We’re raising hell Full force and ICE We’re pulling fathers from their families What Kristi Noem says we should do Kidnap and go! No questions asked! While the whole world sees what we do Tear gas fills the streets Rubber bullets splat Texans on their way (If they’re not too fat!) So raise your voice Against the strife It wasn’t hell Till ICE arrived They are inciting, it’s frightening, But never be cowed or subdued… Because they know (Because they know) Under their masks (Under their masks) Because they know That they are all Animals too ___________________________ THANKS SO MUCH TO PATREONS (HOWLERS below): Alyssa Sangeeta Jacobson Memorial Fund Sacramento Scott Jeanette Mansfield Bond Starker Christian Schranz Peter Green Richard Boultbee LisaMarie Fitzpatrick Hunjip Shin Ed Rocheck Sandra Vernooy Dan McColm Douglas Lind David Ryan Simon Haslam Lew Mike Smith Andy Riches Cliff Hope Carol Leff Derrick Brown David Patrao Karen & Geeta Erick Löfdahl Grandad
