Marojejy National Park - Madagascar - 2001.

My first visit in Marojejy National Park, Madagascar in 2001. Ten years ago this park was very rarely visited by tourists, the only vazaha's (foreigner in Malagasy) I met there was Erik Patel and his research team. I knew from Erik that during their 3-month stay I had been the 3rd tourist in the Park at that time. Erik still continues his research in the Park and makes enormous efforts to protect the rainforest and the endangered Silky Sifakas in the area. He has built up a research team in the meantime from well educated and trained local people who are also committed to this project. During this 10 years the Park and its area was significantly improved to serve the ecotourism, to give job to the local people and to protect that beautiful area. This film is dedicated to Erik Patel, Eric Mathieu and all of those local people who are taken efforts to save and develop Marojejy for all of us. Thank you for the great job !!
