MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) A job is always a precious commodity in any city. Mobile residents say those jobs are keeping them busier than ever. Well I have people calling me all night about stuff. And we answer the phone up...the middle hours of the night you know? Answering questions on things they needed to know answers on, said local business owner, Donald Minto. Workers are constantly forced to balance their time between their jobs and their children. For some that means choosing part time employment. This is what I made the choice to do because children, they require a lot of your time. I chose to work PRN and to make sure that they're taken care of, and I feel like if they're taken care of and with also ya know...with me being able to work. Sometimes I can work more hours and I'm able to you know, meet my needs, said Valerie Greene. Parents with no job are forced to sacrifice that time to provide for their children. Kristi Butler was recently laid off from her previous job. Butler is studying to become a X-ray technologist and is planning to graduate in April. When she graduates she hopes to replace her previous job with one better. Thats what keeps me going everyday. That's why I'm studying all night and not sleeping and just trying to do the best I can so that I can get that job, said Butler.
