🔴Live Welcome back to 3BFarm, your friendly channel about the daily life and care of honey bees! 🐝🌸

In today’s update, we are out in the bee yard checking every hive to see how our colonies are developing. After weeks of consistent care and good weather, most of the hives have become much stronger, showing healthy activity and fast comb building. Some of the colonies are even so active that they started building extra combs inside the hive boxes by themselves! Although it’s great to see such energy, these natural combs can look messy and make hive management difficult. So today, I am cleaning up all the messy combs and replacing them with proper wax foundation frames to help guide the bees to build evenly and neatly. During this hive inspection, I also paid close attention to the strong colonies to prevent swarming. When bees become too crowded, they start preparing to swarm — splitting their colony and leaving with the queen to find a new home. To avoid losing bees before the honey flow season, I checked every strong hive for queen cells and made sure there’s enough space for the colony to expand. I also prepared and fed sugar syrup to support the bees’ growth and energy. This extra feeding helps the bees draw out new comb faster and keeps the hive population strong, which is very important for next week’s plan — splitting the strong hives to create new colonies. Splitting helps manage the population and prevents swarming while increasing the number of productive hives in the apiary. All of this preparation is focused on getting ready for the upcoming honey flow season in November, when the flowers of the Kapok tree (Ceiba pentandra) begin to bloom. The Kapok trees produce an excellent nectar source, and our bees love it! Once the season begins, I will relocate all the hives to the Kapok tree field so that the bees can collect fresh nectar and produce natural, high-quality honey. This time of year is very exciting for beekeepers. Seeing the hives strong and healthy is a sign of success, and with careful management — removing messy combs, controlling swarming, feeding sugar syrup, and maintaining healthy brood — we can look forward to a very productive honey season ahead. In this video, you’ll see the full process of hive inspection, cleaning combs, feeding bees, and my personal tips for preparing colonies for the honey flow season. If you’re a beekeeper or just interested in the world of honey bees, this is a great example of how daily hive management helps ensure long-term success. 🍯 Topics Covered: Hive inspection and comb management Preventing swarming in strong colonies Feeding sugar syrup for hive growth Preparing for hive splitting Moving hives to the Kapok tree field for honey flow Subscribe to 3BFarm to follow more real-life beekeeping updates, seasonal management techniques, and the beauty of working with nature’s best pollinators. 🐝🌼🍯
