State Preview Classic A great slate of games at the 2026 State Preview Classic hosted by Rolling Hills Prep and North Torrance. The early evening matchup set up a showdown between St Francis and Los Alamitos. The intrigue of seeing 7'4" Cherif Millogo was nullified as he was sitting out due to illness. St Francis got out to the early 12-6 lead but Los Alamitos would go on a 16-2 run that extended into the 2nd quarter and later led by as much as 9 points 25-16. The Golden Knights would storm back led by Cole Ragsdale and Luke Paulus and cut the deficit to two 30-28 at the half. With the score tied at 41 apiece, St Francis went on a 6-0 run to close the quarter to take a 47-41 lead heading into the 4th quarter. The Knights would take their biggest lead of 8 points with under 7 minutes to play but Los Alamitos would have another rally in them. A breakaway dunk from Tyler Lopez would tie the game at 51 for the Griffins and the lead would change hands back and forth the rest of the way. With Los Alamitos down 3 with under a minute to play Lopez cashed in a trey from the top of the key to tie the game once again at 59-59. Riley Bowers would later give the Griffins a 61--59 lead with a bucket off the glass in the paint. St Francis needing a steal got the turnover they would need to have a chance to tie when Ragsdale got a hand on the inbound pass. Isaiah Williams had possession of the ball but was ruled out of bounds giving the Golden Knights a shot to tie or win with 9.5 seconds remaining in regulation. Ragsdale would once again be the hero for St Francis grabbing an offensive rebound and scoring the putback in mid-air to send the game to overtime 61-61. In overtime it was Lopez and Williamson getting the Griffins out to a 69-61 lead. Lopez scored 5 of his game high 25 points in the extra frame while Williamson's big three from the wing but the game out of reach as Los Alamitos downed St Francis 73-70 in OT.
