Paddle Shifters Tutorial for Mustangs! I used my 2019 Mustang GT with 10 speed automatic transmission, but any Mustang from 2015-2020 Mustang GT/Ecoboost/V6 is going to follow the same suit whether it has 6R80 or 10R80 transmission. In this video I will cover the basics of Paddle Shifters and their operation for Mustangs, in my case a Mustang GT, but if you Mustang V6 or Mustang Ecoboost it will be the same. We will also look at how to upshift and downshift your Mustang without damaging anything on the car. Finally, I will give you my quick impression on how Paddle shifters really are and if it worth using them on your Mustang. Paddle Shifters on paper add pretty much manual capability on your automatic car, in case of Mustang GT/Ecoboost/V6, it's no different. Downshifting to hear your exhaust more and just enjoying your ride on backroads is insanely fun with Paddle shifters. Mustang with automatic transmissions whether it's the GT, Ecoboost, or V6 are looked down upon generally. Ford tried to solve the problem by having all 2015+ Mustang models have Paddle Shifters to bring back some fun. Obviously it won't be as good as manual transmission such as Tremec or maybe even MT-82. But having the option to downshift using paddle shifters and holding out the gear longer is really fun on my Mustang GT. If commute wasn't an issue I would get the manual transmission, but in my case it made more sense to get the automatic transmission with paddle shifters for my 2019 Mustang GT.
