VN24 - 05-07-2024 (D/M/Y) - Dortmund / Germany - At around 08:30 pm in the evening, the driver of a water tanker truck belonging to Dortmund's municipal services was driving on the traffic circle on Silberstraße in the city of Dortmund. For reasons as yet unknown, the tanker tipped onto its side after half a roundabout and slid against the sidewalk. Two doctors who were at the scene by chance climbed into the cab to help the seriously injured driver until the fire department arrived. The driver was finally rescued through the sawn-open windshield and taken to hospital by the ambulance service. During the accident, the hooklift vehicle with the loaded roll-off tank lost all of its water and hydraulic oil, which ran down a side road and had to be cleaned up with a special hot steam cleaning machine.
