Canada is an adult male Gould's Wattled Bat who was noticed hanging off a bollard on the foreshore walk around Canada Bay. A lovely lady noticed him and stayed with him until I arrived, so I could find him. She sent me a google map with a dropped pin so I could find the location. Canada (named for the bay: well I figured out if I can have a Sweden bat named by a child, then Canada is well within the parameters of a theme) is a cranky little guy who has hit his head. I think he's also been in the bay because his fur was all wavy like it had been wet and not groomed. (I know my grooming suffers when I'm sick) I haven't heard how he is yet, so let's hope for the best for the little guy. Update: Canada has had a 5 day survival, so he's out of the woods. I hope to release him in Spring if I'm around when he's ready for release (I am away a few times in Spring so maybe it won't be me releasing him). I love a survivor.
