In a Male Dominated society like India, Women are still far from practicing their right to freedom. In some cases they have to go through exploitation, not only from the outsiders but from members of her own family. Prostitution is rampant and women for them is an asset. A big part of this problem is our societal norms, lack of education & Unemployment. Giving away their daughters/wife as wives on rent seems like a legal way of prostitution under the alias of historic culture. But is such a practice to be still alive have any place in our modern times as we continue to evolve technologically. One problem is that such evolution unfortunately is not rampant in our villages and remote areas. Whether it is a setback for India to have not been able to provide education to the masses or the lack of job opportunities, it will take some time for these practices to be abolished. One step towards it is when we, the people of our great country INDIA, atleast are aware of such things and may well help to curb some of it.
