The best, and what I assume is one of the most popular, Avenged Sevenfold song finally falls. If you're unfamiliar with this chart you're probably shocked to find out we hadn't done this until now, in which case I'd like to direct your attention to the guitar solo, notably the insane strumming section 40% into it. This section has stymied just about every would-be soldier that wanted to get this done, so on the back burner this song has remained for years upon years, rarely thought of and almost never brought up. Well what with my new kit allowing me do successfully do drums for this, I figured it was time to start annoying our guitarists until one of them caved and proved themselves capable of tackling this bastard. Enter Benjamin, who had been working on his strumming around this time (see, A Pure Evil bass) and decided to take a look at it. I recall the text like it was yesterday: on my way to class I get a "Bat Country might be possible" from the Canadian king himself, and I proceed to ceaselessly encourage his progress until he was comfortable enough to try it in band. A mere few days later we started giving this real attempts with Lance and Tree, though our first two grinds left us unable to get past the strumming, in part because it's ridiculous and in part because I was gagging on something vile and missed in the fill during the strumming 4 different times. After a day of play with that aforementioned 4 stack that unfortunately bore no spoils, Ben and I were both practicing random stuff when he had a breakthrough on a song you'll see tomorrow and asked me if I was feeling up to it, to which I replied that we were the only two up at the hour and would be unlikely to find assistance. As though he had intercepted a distress beacon, a Brendan appeared online and was both willing and able to hop on two instruments to help facilitate a full band session. After we successfully got the song Ben initially asked Brendan and I about, Ben then thought it wise to try our luck and give this a go. No more than 20 minutes later we get past the solo and FBFC. First thing I'd like to point out is how preposterous Brendan is at Vox-stringing. This demigod literally never missed, and didn't even see the second half of the song until we were on an FBFC run. I don't think there is anyone in the world capable of what Brendan can do on multiple parts at the same time. He even got the frickin path perfect after one run. Absolute unit. Secondly, Benjamin is a madman. Picking up one of the most overdue and difficult songs kept hidden by other players for fear of coming up short, and dominating it. He FCed the strumming around 5 or 6 times in band and deserved for this to be easier to obtain, and I will carry that shame to my grave. Finally I'd like to thank The Gib and The Oak, as they were in our first two extensive grinds for this and were it not for my idiocy they would be in this. You guys are troopers and I love you and I'm sorry I'm garb. Hope you enjoy this fantastic song and display of mastery by two legends.
