Last week I released a video introducing the Maine 3,500 footers, and this week I am bringing you episode 1 of that series. I kicked off this series with Snow Mountain, also referred to as Snow Chain of Ponds. It’s the second tallest mountain in Maine that is below 4000 feet, which also puts it on the New England Hundred Highest list. It’s in a remote part of western Maine, beyond Eustis and near the Canadian border. I accessed the “trailhead” via a logging road, and followed a mix of old ATV trails, logging roads, and herd paths to the top. Along the way I encountered both the bright sun and down pouring rain.
