If you’re looking for a way to reduce mosquitoes in your yard without harming pollinators or other beneficial insects, you’re in the right place. In this video, I’m sharing a simple, effective, and truly eco-friendly way to manage mosquitoes using a DIY mosquito trap and mosquito dunks containing Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti). Bti is a biological control that targets mosquito larvae only. No fogging. No pyrethroids that take out beneficial insects. No collateral damage to bees, butterflies, or birds. I'll also explain why most of the so-called “natural” mosquito sprays aren’t as safe as they sound—and why a biological approach works better for long-term mosquito control in an organic garden. This is one of the easiest and least expensive projects you can do to make a big difference in your outdoor comfort and protect the ecosystem in your own backyard. Doug is a leading voice in ecological gardening, and we talked about this method as part of a larger conversation around protecting pollinators and reducing chemical inputs in the landscape. 🎧 Listen to that episode here: https://joegardener.com/podcast/doug-... 📖 Check out Doug’s newest book How Can I Help?: Saving Nature with Your Yard: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1643264710?...
