This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. As humans, how do we interact with one another to improve our lives? Our next speaker explores this question through the “Escola de Redes,” a platform for social network research. He was also involved in the creation of Brazil’s law on NGOs. Today he will present us with a picture of social revolutions that are happening all over the world. Augusto Franco is a writer, speaker and consultant. He is the founder and a netweaver of “Escola de Redes” (“School of Networks”) – a network of people dedicated to research on social networks and the creation and transfer of technology netweaving. He is the author of several dozens of books and texts focused on local development, social capital, democracy and social networks.. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
