The New Jersey General Assembly honoring Black History Month

The New Jersey General Assembly honored Black History Month with a special ceremony during the voting session. Members of the Legislative Black Caucus came together to recognize outstanding individuals making a lasting impact in our communities. Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson introduced Brianna Polite for a beautiful performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Members of the Legislative Black Caucus led a ceremony in recognition of Black History Month and recognized the following individuals for their accomplishments: Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter presented a resolution to Dr. Pamela Brug, Dr. Damali Campbell, and Dr. Natalie Roche of New Jersey Black Women Physicians Association. Assemblywoman Linda Carter presented a resolution to former Plainfield City Councilman Harvey Judkins. Assemblywomen Garnet Hall and Linda Carter presented a resolution to Natasha L. Hemmings of Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey. Closing the ceremony was Assemblyman Atkins.
