Maria is CEO and co-founder of Food Security Solutions Americas (FSSA), where she leads the development of circular bioconversion platforms that upcycle food and agricultural waste into high-value ingredients for food and feed. She also leads Maria Velissariou Consulting LLC, advising organizations on strategy, innovation, and commercialization at the intersection of food, climate, health, and digital transformation. Her work frequently involves cross-sector partnerships that connect industry, science, capital, and policy to enable scalable solutions. She serves as a Senior Fellow at The Conference Board – Europe, and holds board and advisory roles with Solmeyea, Proxy Foods, and the Institute on Science for Global Policy (ISGP).
