Markus Kayser talks about 'desert manufacturing' : a combination of solar power and 3D printing to create objects made entirely out of sand. As a product designer, he has created a variety of beautiful objects only using the sun and sand. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
