Since Mirabel and Camilo are the same age and had their gift ceremonies at around the same time, they both always hung out together and there were both very close. Because Mirabel didn't get a gift, her family decided to always keep her inside the casita, and she rarely ever went outside (Camilo was always by her side though). When Pepa and Felix were talking to Antonio (right before he got his gift), Mirabel couldn't take it anymore, and she prepared to run away. When Abuela wanted everyone to take a family picture, Camilo noticed that Mirabel wasn't there. He went to go look for her, and saw that she was about to leave.
