Essex once had 11 along its coast. • Pin Mill’s boat graveyard is a photographer’s dream — best viewed 30 minutes either side of high tide. • Orwell Bridge spans 1,287m and was the UK’s longest pre-stressed concrete span when built in 1982. • Flatford Mill is a Grade I listed site immortalised by John Constable’s painting “The Hay Wain”. • Harwich Quay was a naval base in both World Wars and the departure point for the Mayflower in 1620. • Harwich Mural was painted by local students in 1982 and redesigned in 1995 — a graffiti-free community artwork. • Felixstowe Beach stretches 4 miles and includes South Beach (Blue Flag) and North Beach backed by Seafront Gardens. • Landguard Nature Reserve is a rare vegetated shingle spit and SSSI, home to over 600 flora species and nesting birds. • Stour & Orwell Walk is a 42-mile coastal trail linking Felixstowe to Cattawade via Ipswich, rich in wildlife and views. 💬 Enjoyed the journey?
