Georgetown Square, Texas: Explore the Historic Downtown & Live Music Scene

Georgetown is located about 30 miles north of Austin, Texas. It was recognized as the fastest growing city recently by the authorities on city growth. The downtown square area of Georgetown is really nice and walkable, with many different restaurants and bars and places to play music. The first place I spotted while walking around was Ken'z Guitars. They frequently have open mic nights and live music featured there. Gumbo's on the Square was located nearby, so I stopped in for some shrimp and grits and caught music by Bob Case. Some other music venues include Tejas Meat Supply, Barrels and Amps and Roots. Later I drove out to Walburg for the Walburg Songwriter Wednesdays at Walburg German Restaurant. I love these sort of songwriter events and swapping songs and stories with other performers. The event is curated and hosted by songwriter Mike Mathis Sr. and featured Ryan Dale, Robert Lawhon, Steve Valentine and myself.
