Rio - Antirrio Bridge: Completion of Underwater Inspections by Divers. The 2024 campaign of underwater and marine inspections by divers has been completed. The underwater inspections focused on Inspection and local concrete and maintenance works in the "splash zone" – This refers to the section from the sea surface down to a depth of 5 meters and Assessment of the subsea section of the lightning protection and grounding system. The inspections were carried out by divers with a live audio-visual link to an engineer of the Rio Antirrio Bridge Structural Maintenance Department located at a work station on board the support vessel and by a remotely operated vehicle (ROV). 20 years after its construction, the Rio Antirrio Bridge stands not only as an iconic landmark, but also as a benchmark for technical and operational excellence in infrastructure projects, bringing together the global expertise of VINCI Highways with the experience and knowledge developed at the local concession level.
