What do carefully curated antiques and vintage collectibles really fetch today? We're debunking myths, examining fascinating pieces, sharing the stories behind them, and revealing the actual prices collectors pay right now. We're telling stories of the past through the antique and vintage items that remain, while comparing our real sales to others, discovering which similar items are most highly valued by today's collectors. Fanciful 1950s ceramics, fun toys from earlier years, and a variety of decorative and collectible items from across the globe appear. A 1920s trip to exotic western lands is chronicled, and its levity and illegal activities stand in sharp contrast to a WWI folio from only a few years earlier. Each item tells a story that captures the imagination while showing what collectors today are willing to pay. Along the way, several surprises appear. Myths are debunked as a collector’s item that others claim “never sells” sells for a strong price on eBay. Empowered women from the 1920s appear in artwork, alongside a nude fellow and rhinestone-studded sea life. Native Americans dance in real clothing many people assume is costume, and we realize that many vintage pieces hold deeper meaning than they first suggest. How much more are these items worth than many people expect? We present realized prices throughout the video to help collectors and resellers better understand the current market for antiques and vintage collectibles across many categories.
