Ceapabhal - Isle of Harris - Scotland | 4K | DJI Mini 3 Pro

Ceapabhal is a 360m hill towering over the small village of Taobh Tuath (aka Northton), at the southwest end of the magical Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. More importantly, it also towers over one of the most iconic beaches of Scotland, Sgarasta Mhòr (aka Scarista Beach). It makes the view from the top unforgettable. To the east, you can see a stretch of Scarista Beach, salt marshes at its end and other Harris hills and mountains in the distance. To the south, you can enjoy the view of smaller, less known, but still very charming Northton Beaches. In decent weather, you can also see other Hebridean islands, Ensay to the south, Berneray and Uist to the southwest, Pabbay to the west and Taransay to the north and northeast. In even better weather, you can see Cuillin Ridge on the Isle of Skye to the south and the island of St. Kilda to the west. No wonder this hill is considered by many as the peak with the most magnificent view in Scotland. Despite the unimpressive height, the trail is slightly longer than the one to the highest peak of the Outer Hebrides, Clisham. It is because one-third of the trail leads through relatively flat pastures to one of the mentioned Northton Beaches. Proper climbing starts from there. At this point, the trail is not very well marked, but it becomes more visible as you ascend. The walk takes around 3 hours and is not difficult at all, with no exposure or scrambling; however, there are some steep parts.
