(Welsh Below) For decades, the roar of engines and the smell of petrol were synonymous with "development." Today, while others threaten our rivers, the Wampís Nation looks to the sky. This video explores how the Wampís people in the Peruvian Amazon are transitioning from fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy. Through the use of solar-powered boats, they are transforming local transport, supporting emergency healthcare, and helping students reach their schools—all without the cost or environmental damage of traditional fuels. A Journey of Support & Collaboration: Our journey towards energy sovereignty began with the vital early support of the Honnold Foundation, whose initial backing helped us prove that solar power is the future of Amazonian transport. Today, this vision continues to grow thanks to our ongoing partnership with Size of Wales and the Welsh Government. Together, we are defending the forest and demonstrating that indigenous autonomy is key to global climate action. Key Highlights: Zero Pollution: Replacing noisy, polluting engines with solar-rechargeable technology. Community Impact: Providing free transport for medical emergencies, student commutes, and supporting local mothers and farmers. A Shared Vision: Our goal is for every boat on our rivers to be solar-powered, securing the health of our territory and the future of humanity. Join us in witnessing "Autonomy in Action" as we defend our territory and defend life. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Transcribed by: Diego A.
