On this stomp I'm back with Phil and we're joined by his neighbour Andy. We take a walk along the Bennerley & Bulwell branch of the Midland Railway, from just outside Ilkeston, up to Kimberley where we take a look at Kimberley West station, and the remains of the former Hardy & Hanson Brewery, before clambering in to the deep flooded cutting, and up to the mouth of Watnall tunnel. Beyond there we look at the site of Watnall station, which because an RAF base in 1939. The base coordinated to infamous 'dam busters' raids. We finish the walk at the lonely bridge, that nestles in next to the busy M1 motorway. *Made some merch for the railway fans like myself.
